New Ford Focus Addition

The new 2008 Ford Focus has added something pretty exciting, the new Sync infotainment system.
“A joint effort between Ford and Microsoft, Sync is essentially a small PC running on a version of Windows Auto (click here for our video comparison test of Detroit’s new in-car tech). It has a zippy, 400-MHz processor with 256 MB of flash and 128 MB of RAM memory. A USB connector allows the system to interface with an iPod, thumbdrive or any other music storage device, such as Microsoft’s Zune. Other highlights include hands-free, voice-activated phone operation and hands-free text messaging. Eventually, Sync will be able to control all of your car’s entertainment, communications and navigation functionality. Right now, those are stand-alone.”
What makes Sync so groundbreaking is that all of its functionality is software based. So expanding capability is as easy as installing a new computer program. It’s affordable only $395 for the option, and will be available in all Ford vehicles in under two years.
But if you really take a look at the 2008 Ford Focus it really isn’t anything exciting minus this new cheap and pretty amazing addition. You will still be driving on the same old Focus. Sorry.
