Chrysler Cutting Minivan Production

The largest privately owned automobile manufacturer is cutting back on 2,400 jobs and closing two plants that make mini-vans. Given Chrysler created this category of automobile, this is a major blow. Pricing became available today for Chrysler’s new hybrid SUVs and it seems they will be about $5,000 cheaper than GM’s hybrid models that use the same technology.

Chrysler announced today that it is recalling 6,692 Dodge Journeys for possible engine fires. 
The model being recalled has the 3.5-liter engine and the engine’s wiring harness could come into contact with the left transaxle mount and possibly start an engine fire, reports AutoWeek.
